Restaurants
Eating out does not mean eating in the car!
In Vermont, it seems you are never too far from a place to eat. There are restaurants, diners, cafe's, grills, Inns, and specialty stores. The diversity of cuisine and menus choices is really not such a big surprise considering the number of eateries located here. In all, this can make choosing a place to eat an over whelming task, but there are resources available to speed things along. There is always the standard phone book - in the White Pages you can find local restaurants by name and by food type.
Another excellent resource is a Vermont local newspaper, Seven Days, which publishes a yearly magazine called 7 Nights Guide to Restaurants and Bars. It not only lists over 700 eaters in Vermont, but includes location, hours, meals served, and a brief description. There are also articles about some of the new restaurants or chefs in the area. The magazine is free or you can get the same information online at www.7nvt.com. If you are looking for a special restaurant their website allows you to choose by name, region or cuisine.
Some of my favorites are listed below. (not all have websites)
Beanie's Van - located in the parking lot of Battery Park. Serves mainly hamburger, hot dogs & fries.
